Andrei Kurkov's novel. End of the millennium in Kiev, Viktor is proposed to write eulogies for newspapers. He managed to keep even the penguin which lives at home, saved from the closure of the zoo. Rather strange but enjoyable novel, in which every so often one wonders if the quirks are due to translation or original writing. Light, thin and sensitivity of the ice age. A pleasant read, even for me that I read in Eastern Europe - and appreciated - a little.
