AC active load
In the second half of last year we had Faculty the honor of taking the exam Design of Analog Electronics . This is a very special examination, centered on the design and implementation of a prototype electronic.
I say "we" not by chance. I was lucky enough to work on the project together with a highly respected colleague, the synergy and common purpose has enabled us to produce a work that we consider worthy of interest, so we decided to publish the entire contents of the project.
We chose to implement an electronic active load, characterized by the structure shown in Figure antiseries:
This circuit topology allows you to adjust the absorption of alternating current, provided in phase with the input voltage. E 'is therefore clear that the characteristic of the load can be resistive only , this topology requires more operating limits, which are well studied in the project.
The complexity of the project is primarily determined by the atypical structure, which has important problems of bias and control, and secondly the size of a chain of effective control.
Of particular interest in the project is the study of so-called stage limiter, which operates the changeover from the operating under constant resistance, constant current, it was implemented using an operational amplifier with nonlinear feedback network. This stadium has been designed so much exhaustive, and our opinion is worth dwelling on considerations.
is remarkable for the study dealt with the estimation of the frequency response of the various stages, with particular attention to the final stage.
no less important is the series of observations made on non-ideal second order, of particular interest is the study of the behavior of a loaded potentiometer resistance.
We wish you good reading , hoping to collect suggestions for modifications and improvements to the project!
